ERIKA O’LEARY
Director of People & Culture
Erika joined laya healthcare 6 years ago and sits on the laya healthcare Executive leadership team as Director of People & Culture where she has responsibility for laya’s people strategy focusing on culture, engagement, inclusion, talent & capability, team wellbeing, operational HR, legal and regulatory affairs, and the company’s ESG strategy. She is also the Company Secretary for laya healthcare, now Part of AXA.
Prior to this, Erika held a senior leadership role in laya as Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs and Company Secretary ensuring best practice in laya’s Legal and Regulatory approach in advising on and managing the legal risk for the business. Erika has a particular interest in EDI matters and is responsible for driving the laya EDI strategy.
Before joining laya healthcare, Erika achieved the senior rank of Lieutenant Commander in the Naval forces, commanding the LE Aoife naval warship and occupied a Senior Management HR role responsible for the strategic management of resources across the Naval service. She was Gender Advisor to the head of the Navy and has also represented the Irish Defence Forces in Europe on gender equality.
Erika is a qualified Barrister of Law and has been called to the Bar of Ireland. She holds a Masters in Public Policy and International Human Rights Law from University College Cork and is a professionally qualified Mediator.
She is registered on the Roll of Practising Barristers and is a member of the Irish Women Lawyers Association.
